Welcome     The Scroll     Podcast     FFF5

“Seed of Evil”, the next single from Black Needle Noise has a certain, “Try not to sing, ‘I want to f*** you like an animal’” quality evoked by the swaying crunchy beat that drives it forward. “For fans of NIN, Ministry, KMFDM, etc.” indeed. Those immediate comparisons aside, this stands on its own. And it should.

Listen. I know what you’re thinking, “This comes from Texas? Texas? … Seriously, Texas?” Maybe then you think, “Okay, you know, Austin is a hip city with lots of musical offerings.” But, Twin Tribes are not from Austin. Twin Tribes – Luis Navarro and Joel Nino, Jr. – hail from Brownsville, Texas. Brownsville!

After the opening track serenades your lighting of the candelabra and setting the table for your spectral soire, complete with tinny gramophone piano, the rest of the songs sound very similar - similar in that they are all darkly melodic, powerful anthems of regret, despair, and remorse... and loud, gloriously loud.
